# ProjectSmith > ProjectSmith is project management for MSPs that run Datto Autotask: Kanban and Gantt over your Autotask projects, timesheets with approval that write time back to Autotask, capacity planning across projects and the service desk, and budgets and fixed-price milestones that flow to Autotask for invoicing. ProjectSmith is a web application for managed service providers (MSPs) that run Datto Autotask, built by people who ran MSPs on Autotask. It is operated by a US company based in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Datto Autotask remains the system of record: projects, phases, tasks, time entries, charges, milestones and invoices stay in Autotask, and ProjectSmith reads them, adds planning and approval, and writes the results back. ProjectSmith works only with Datto Autotask. Customers can sign in with Microsoft through their own Microsoft Entra tenant (per-customer single sign-on) or with email and multi-factor authentication, and get support from inside the app. Pricing: billed monthly in US dollars only, plus applicable taxes. Member seat US$20 per user per month (Technicians and engineers who log time and work their own tasks). Planner seat US$59 per user per month (Project managers, service delivery managers and team leads who plan the work and approve time; includes approvals, budgets, leave approval, the portfolio Gantt, capacity planning for the team, team reports, and creating projects and templates). Owners and Admins administer users, billing and settings on any seat. Minimum subscription is US$99/month (1 Planner + 2 Members). Example: 2 Planners and 10 Members cost US$318 a month. No onboarding fee, no annual contract. 14-day free trial with no card needed. Nothing is charged during the trial; add a card before it ends to keep going. Every Autotask resource appears in capacity planning and utilisation whether or not they hold a seat. Hosting: customer data is hosted in Australia (Microsoft Azure, Australia East), with encrypted backup copies in Microsoft Azure, Australia Southeast. United Kingdom and United States regions are planned. A workspace Owner can cancel in the app; workspace data is deleted 30 days after a deletion request, and audit records are kept. ## Key pages - [Home](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/): what ProjectSmith does for an MSP and how it works with Datto Autotask. - [Features](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/features/): each module (boards, Gantt, timesheets and approval, capacity, leave and utilisation, budgets and fixed-price billing, the Autotask connector), the two seats, and common questions. - [Solutions](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/solutions/): guides to each job ProjectSmith does for an MSP on Datto Autotask. - [Pricing](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/pricing/): the two seats, the minimum, example team costs, trial terms, currency (USD), tax, invoices, cancelling, and the pricing FAQ. - [Security](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/security/): tenant isolation, sign-in, hosting, encryption, audit, and how to get a security questionnaire answered. - [About](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/about/): who builds ProjectSmith (people who ran MSPs on Datto Autotask) and why. - [Contact](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/contact/): support@getprojectsmith.com. - [Start a free trial](https://app.dev.projectsmith.io/signup): sign-up. ## Features - [Boards](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/features/#projects-and-boards): A Kanban board for every Autotask project, with columns mapped to your own Autotask task statuses. - [Gantt](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/features/#portfolio-timeline): A Gantt for every Autotask project, and a portfolio Gantt that puts all of them on one timeline. - [Timesheets and approval](https://www.getprojectsmith.com/features/#time-and-approvals): A weekly timesheet with a timer and an approval step.
